Central Florida can be a tough place if you’re looking for some TTRPG action. Sure, Orlando and Tampa offer some amazing game, hobby, and comic shops with fantastic people ready to assist, but the rural area in-between can be a veritable desert of places to gather. This is why we were so excited to discover Firebunny Games in Auberndale earlier this year. This shop is just two year’s old and run by a husband and wife team who are looking to build a spot in the community where nerds can gather.
Two things make Firebunny Games stand out to be in particular. First, there is a game library in the back where you and your friends can rent a table and play games from their library. This is a great way to trial some games before you pick them up or just have some time together to chill. Second, the community TTRPG schedule the store offers is so varied! More than just the big names in TTRPG are offered throughout the week and you can join as you’d like. Many of these game tables are all ages friendly, allowing even the younger adventurers some fun!
It is on the smaller size space wise, but holds its own against some other places I go to with their variety of offerings and stock. The team is also ready and able to take special orders, if the content you are looking for isn’t in stock. If you follow my Instagram, you know this is where I snagged my copy of Humblewood.
After learning about Free RPG Day this year, I was very excited to see that Firebunny would be participating. It absolutely had to be a stop for Variant Allison and myself. Check out some of the pictures below to get a sense of the store!
